Ludhiana, August 21, 2014: Parkash Singh Badal, Chief Minister, Punjab will be awarding certificates to the first batch of 25 young and talented workers who will pass out of Hero Cycles Skill Development Center on Friday.
Hero Cycles Skill Development Center is a world-class skill development & training centre in Ludhiana which was launched in 2013. Badal had flagged off this initiative of Hero Cycles last year and had termed it as a decisive step in improving the skill development of youth of Punjab.
Hero Cycles selected 25 of its most promising workers through a scientifically-designed evaluation process consisting of written test and interview to enroll them in a program that would graduate them from worker to supervisor and put them in a leadership role. The course content and methodology were carefully crafted to impart the course in the most practical and useful manner, with a balanced theoretical and practical syllabus. These worker-students are excited to leapfrog their careers with a new leadership role and aspire to be role-models to the next batch. Hero Cycles tied-up with Chitkara University which successfully conducted this program.
Hero Cycles now plans to increase its involvement with the Government of Punjab to create more such centers with much higher intake of students and a wider scope of skills.
