Badal must quit on health ground: AAP
Sukhbir,'s arrogance dangerous for peace: Shankar Ludhiana, September 30, 2018: Aam Aadmi Party Punjab Spokesman Darshan Singh Shankar appreciating the reaction of a number of senior most Akali leaders against the present autocratic leadership of SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal and his team asked oldest leader S.Parkash Singh Badal to get aside from the dummy Party posts following the decision of Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, as his heath was not better than Dhindsa anyway. In a press statement issued here today, S.Shankar said that now a number of senior Akali leaders including Dhindsa, Tota Singh, Ranjit Singh Brampura have openly started blaming the Badals for the present situation by undergoing a secret pact with Sirsa Dera head Ram Raheem, who proved to be the accused of theft and desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. He said that many senior Akali leaders like then SGPC President Avtar Singh Makkar, Ranjjit Singh Brahmpura, Bibi Kiranjot Kaur had squarely condemned the pardon granted to Ram Rahim through Jathedars of different Takhts and even the decision of SAD to remaining away from the discussion on Justice (Retd.) Ranjit Singh Commission Report in Vidhan Sabha on August 28. He added that the resignation of veteran leader Mr.Dhindsa citing heath ground speaks many things more, as his advise to Akal Takhat Jathedar to resign from post for lowering the dignity of Supreme Temporal seat of Akal Takht by granting pardon to Ram Rahim and then reversing the decision, was not taken in a good taste by SAD leadership particularly by Sukhbir Badal. Mr.Dhindsa had not attended any political rally of party after giving his resentment on the issue. Mr.Shankar asked that if the reason for resignation of Dhindsa was actually deteriorating heath, then heath of S.Parkash Singh Badal was looking worst than Dhindsa, as he was often seen supported by security staff to the stages of functions and in reality S.Sukhbir Badal had been running the party and government affairs, since he taken over as Deputy CM and Party President. Mr.Shankar also said that after proving guilty of conniving with the accused of desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and saving the police officers responsible of Behbal Kallan firing, in which two Sikh youth were killed, there was a strong resentment against SAD in general and Badal family in particular among the Sikh community. Instead of seeking apology from the Sikh Sangat, S.Sukhbir Badal had started further annoying the Sikh community by showing strength through rallies and portraying senior S.Badal as the only accepted leader of Sikh community, which was not going well with the other old stalwarts of party, Mr.Shankar added. He asserted that now the new arrogant and hot headed team of S.Sukhbir Badal could not sail the party out of the present turmoil and can prove dangerous to the peace in Punjab.
