S Charanjit Singh Channi, Leader of opposition, on Sunday offers sweets (laddoos) to Mahima Nagpal who recently topped in the PSEB class 12 results at Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, May 15, 2016: S Charanjit Singh Channi, Leader of opposition, today visited Ms Mahima Nagpal who recently topped in the PSEB class 12 results at her residence in Ludhiana. The CLP leader congratulated the girl student who had earned laurels in the class 12 results. Channi announced to adopt Mahima for higher studies after taking consent from the family. Channi assured every possible help to the student and her family for the bright future of this girl. Channi said that the whole Punjab and the nation is proud of her.

Later talking to the media persons Channi said that Ludhiana city, once called California by the Badals, very recently topped 12th position in the most polluting cities in India. Commenting on the survey published in the publications, S Charanjit Singh Channi, CLP leader today said that it was shame on the face of this present regime which is ruling the state for the last ten years that they cannot even prevent the industrial hub town of Ludhiana from falling into the most polluting cities of India. S Parkash Singh Badal Chief Minister of Punjab and the Deputy Chief minister of Punjab S Sukhbir Singh Badal both used to say California of Punjab but today the reality is totally different. The crime rate in Ludhiana is multiplied like anything. Every day on an average there are five to six incidents of murders, chain snatching or looting. The present regime has failed to deal with the situation instead they are protecting the culprits. The police is in hand in gloves with the political masters shield these culprits.

Channi said that the congress party is committed to bring back the industry to Punjab. Industry is the backbone of development. Congress will include industry friendly agenda in its manifesto also and once after forming the government we will stand by the industrialists of the state. that once called the industrial hub today almost every industrial unit is on the brink of closure or moving out of the state. This is happening due to corrupt policies of this government and there is no vision for the new industry to come up in the state. The closure or the shifting of the industry causes unemployment, which as a result causes increase in crime graph.

Channi was accompanied by all the senior congress leaders of Ludhaina.
