Sanskriti KMV School celebrated the vibrant festival of Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti with great enthusiasm and cultural fervour, marking a joyful beginning to the academic session 2025-26.

Jalandhar: Sanskriti KMV School celebrated the vibrant festival of Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti with great enthusiasm and cultural fervour, marking a joyful beginning to the academic session 2025-26. The pre-primary wing of the school came alive as little children, dressed in colourful Punjabi attire with Phulkari dupattas, performed traditional folk dances like Gidda and Bhangra. The celebration was graced by the presence of the school Principal, Rachna Monga, who joined the students in their joyful moments and appreciated their participation.
A thematic Punjabi village setup was displayed showcasing traditional well, “Bittu Da Ghar”, traditional delicacies like Sarson da Saag, Makki di Roti, and Chatti di Lassi, creatively presented by the students. In addition to this, exhibits like the spinning wheel, a traditional bullock cart, and a vibrant "Raunak Bazaar” captivated everyone’s attention. Other attractions included rural elements such vintage household items, Pappu Pandit, Gaggu the Balloon Seller, Bittu the Toy Seller, a local dispensary, and even a mock setup of a government bank.
Students from Grade I to X participated in various activities related to Baisakhi and the life of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar through poem recitations, calligraphy, poster making, and art activities related to the harvest festival. A documentary film on the life and contribution of Dr. Ambedkar was also shown to students.
Principal, Rachna Monga appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students and emphasized the importance of learning from the inspiring life of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. She also extended her warm wishes on the occasion of Baisakhi, stating that the festival is not only a celebration of the harvest but also a symbol of Punjab’s glorious heritage and cultural pride.
