Baisakhi festival celebrated in Innocent Hearts
Students put on Bhangra on the beat of the Dhol
Jalandhar, April 12, 2022: Baisakhi festival was celebrated with great pomp in the five schools of Innocent Hearts (Green Model Town, Loharan, Cantt.- Jandiala Road, Royal World and Kapurthala Road) and Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar.
A special assembly was organized on this occasion, in which children were told about the historical importance of the Baisakhi festival, while highlighting the Punjabi culture. The children came dressed as Gabru-Mutiyar under the theme 'Proud to be Punjabi'. They mesmerized everyone by presenting the folk dances of Giddha and Bhangra. Under this, various competitions like Pakkhi making, and Pakkhi decoration Punjabi poetry recitation were organized for the children. In all the classes, the children were asked to write a paragraph on the festival of Baisakhi.
Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated Baisakhi - the festival of crops, to inculcate the values of teamwork, cooperation, livelihood, optimism, and togetherness among the prospective teachers to spread the message of 'Kam hi worship hai'. Dressed in colourful attire student - educators Vaishali Arora and Sakshi Thakur gave a mesmerizing performance of Giddha and Bhangra rhythmically with the beat of the dhol. Student-teachers Nandini Luthra and Pooja Ghosh, through speeches, showed their eloquence and explained the importance of the Baisakhi festival for Indian farmers. Boli and tappe were also sung in the Punjabi language by the student-teachers which made everyone happy.
