Bal Bhavan International School win 2019 DC School Cup
Beat Salwan Boys School by 74 runs in the final
New Delhi: Bal Bhavan International School, Dwarka, won the seventh edition of the Delhi Capitals School Cup, beating Salwan Boys School by 74 runs in the final that was held at the Roshanara Club Grounds. This is the second time Bal Bhavan has won the championship.
Electing to bat after winning the toss, Bal Bhavan notched up 139/9 from their 20 overs with opener Aditya Chauhan smashing a 56-ball-70, during which he hit ten boundaries. For Salwan, Kunal Gautam was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with figures of 3/26, while Sachin Pundir took 2/24. In response, Salwan’s innings folded for a paltry 65 runs in just 10 overs. Vanshaj Sharma finished with superb figures of 3/9 from his three overs, while Dev Lakra and Ishan Singh both took two scalps each.
Speaking after the win, Bal Bhavan skipper Dev Lakra said, “This is a very prestigious win for us. We’ve been training for this trophy for many years. I would like to thank all the coaches at the DC Cricket Academy who have worked very hard with us for this.”

Best Batsman – Yash Dabas, 246 Runs in the tournament with best as 140 of 40 balls, Modern School, Barakhamba
Best Bowler – Himanshu Bhati, 15 Wickets in the tournament with best as 8 for 3 runs, Salwan Boys High School
Fairplay Award – Billabong High International School, Noida
48 schools from Delhi NCR, divided into 16 groups, participated in this this edition of the DC School Cup that kicked off on the 22nd of November. The winning team was handed over a trophy, individual medals for all players, and official Delhi Capitals merchandise.
