The popular actress Barkha Bisht Sengupta, who was last seen in the Vivek Oberoi-starrer PM Narendra Modi, has roped in to play the character of Tarini in Sony Entertainment Television’s Magnum opus show, Chandragupta Maurya. The show has been receiving rave reviews from its viewers for its scale and storyline. Recently the show took a 5year leap showcasing new characters and grown-up Chandragupta Maurya(Faisal Khan).

Barkha character will be that of Dhananand (Sourabh Raaj Jain) long lost love interest and she returns Magadh. Speaking about her excitement, Barkha shares, “I am very excited to be a part of Chandragupta Maurya as it will be my first historical show. I know Siddharth Kumar Tewary for a very long time and he is doing some great work especially into historical and mythological space and I never got a chance to work with him. When I got this opportunity to play the role of Tarini who is a love interest of Dhananand, I was quite enthralled and the complexity of my character attracted me, which is one of the main reasons I opted for the show”.

Further, she adds, “I have done two shows for Sony TV Hanuman and Tum Saath Ho Jab Aapne it was a very long and nice association with the channel, Hanuman is one the best show I have done so far and it’s a great team and channel to work with again. I am looking forward to my first foray into a historical show and hopefully do it with the best of my ability.

It will be interesting to watch out Barkha a.k.a Tarini will reunite with Sourabh Raaj Jain a.k.a Dhananand or will go against him and support Chandragupta Maurya?
