Basant Panchami celebrations in PU

Chandigarh: Centre for Human Rights and Duties Celebrated ‘Basant Carnival’: Centre for Human Rights and Duties, Panjab University celebrated Basant Carnival, here today at Student Centre.  Dr. Namita Gupta, Chairperson, Centre for Human Rights and Duties, Panjab University stated that the purpose of the event is not only to connect the students with their rich cultural heritage but also to engage them in outreach activities. 
To do the same, a fund raising event was also organized in which NGOs like Prasanchetas, Social Substance, Kheti Virasat Mission set up their stall and sold their materials. Students enjoyed the flavor of Tandoori chai put up by Kheti Virasat Mission. Students of the Centre also put up food stalls serving gol-gappe and sweet rice. A photobooth was also set up by putting up a decorated swing to mark the celebration. Along with this, various competitions like kite flying, paper dance, selfie competition were organized where students from the various departments of the University participated enthusiastically. 
CELEBRATION OF BASANT UTASAV AT PU 

The Department of Music, Panjab University, Chandigarh has celebrated basant utsav & saraswati poojan with great enthusiasm. On this occasion Ms. Vanita (Sitarist, Punjabi University Patiala) & Dr. Prabhakar Kashyap (Department of Music Panjab University Chandigarh). Programme started with Sarswati Vandana performed by students of department of Music.
Mr. Jaidev (Punjabi University Patiala), Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma, Mr. Rajneesh Dhiman and Mr. Rakesh Kumar done wonderful accompaniment on tabla & harmonium. Dr. Neelam Paul (chairperson) of Department of Music thanked all the teachers, students & guest artists.

On this occasion Prof. Shankarji Jha, Dean of University Instructions, Prof. Rajesh Gill, PUTA President and Prof. Sanjay Kaushik were present on the occasion.
