Police recover fake shoes in Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, December 20, 2012: Buying foreign branded shoes. Be cautious, these may be fake one.
Yes, some foreign branded fake shoes are easily available in the local market. This is evident from the seizure of huge quantity of fake shoes carrying “Make” of two US-based companies from a showroom at the Akalgarh market here on Wednesday evening.
As per the available information, the fake shoes have been recovered from the showroom and the godown of Plaza Shoes. The godown is located near Clock Tower market.
The owner of the showroom was allegedly selling fake shoes of the two US-based shoe manufacturing companies namely Tommy Hilfigher and Lacoste.
The local police conducted the raid in the showroom and the godown alongwith Ramesh Dutt, Director, Speed Network, Chandigarh, a consultant company hired by the two US companies.
It is said that the two US-based companies were generating losses because of sale of fake shoes in the local market. Besides, loss was being rendered to the government exchequer.
Police Division No. 1, on the basis of a complaint filed by Ramesh Dutt, have registered an FIR against the showroom owner Karanbir Singh.
About 400 fake pairs of shoes worth about Rs. 22 lakh were recovered during the raid.
Further police investigation is in progress.
