Jalandhar, March 5, 2015: After the mega success of 7th CT half Marathon where everyone from sports persons to senior citizens to Olympians, artists, players and also to physically challenged persons joined for the noble cause, CT Group of Institutions has again come up with their Race for Charity as ‘8th CT Half Marathon 2015’ scheduled to be held on March 8. Addressing a joint press conference here on Thursday, Harpreet Singh (Vice Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) and Gaurav Khanna (Head, Department of Media and Public Relations) informed. 

The major attraction of the event will be the flag off ceremony by Legendary Folk Singer Gurdas Maan and Renowned RJ & Bigg Boss Fame Pritam Singh at CT Shahpur Campus. The other major attraction is the celebrities Leading Punjabi stars Garry Sandhu, Ranjit Bawa, Jazz Dhami, Umang Sharma and TNP Band will be joining at CT Maqsudan Campus and would mesmerize the audience with their Live performances.

Giving information, Harpreet Singh (Vice Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) said that CT Half Marathon is the only half marathon organized by any educational institutions in Punjab. They have also set a bench mark for the others to follow. This race for charity will start from CT Shahpur Campus to CT Maqsudan Campus (distance of 21 kms), the proceeds of which are shared with the marginalised sectors of the society.

Adding the other attraction of the event is huge sum of Cash prize for the winners. The first prize is for Rs. 25000 (Male & Female both), second prize is Rs. 11000 (Male & Female both), third prize is Rs. 5100 (Male & Female both) and 7 prizes of Rs. 2100.

This commendable noble attempt on the part of CT Group has also encouraged the physically challenged students from Prayas (a School for Special students), Apahaj Asharam, Pingalwara and Red Cross Society to participate in the race. There will be a special 100 m race for the students of ‘Prayas’ at CT Maqsudan Campus. Attractive prizes would be given to the winners for both male and female category and other participating students of Prayas as a token of encouragement and appreciation.

Gaurav Khanna (Head, Department of Media and Public Relations) informed that to meet the FIRSTAID and other medical assistance, the students and staff members of CT Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CTIPS) would register their presence at every 1Kms of the race.

Harpreet Singh (Vice Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) thanked the celebrities, associates and the volunteers for joining hand with the institutions for this noble cause. He said, “This event is totally dedicated to our society. Everyone should come up and be part of this race to encourage the message to support the physically challenged persons.”
