GKU Scientists impart Training in Bee Keeping to farmers and Students.

Talwandi Sabo, July 7, 2014: In the South-Western Malwa region there is a great scope of bee-keeping as subsidiary occupation at Guru Kashi University Talwandi Sabo. Scientists of GKU took initiative to train farmers and Undergraduate Agri. Students to adopt this culture as a mean of learning.
The bee keeping is a subsidiary part time agricultural activity which can be carried out after getting training from GKU Agriculture scientists.
Dr.Amarjit Lal Sharma as Environment Entomologist (GKU) is to impart training on bee keeping with boxes of Bee Colonies at GKU fuels of on culture farm.
During the 1st training session Dr. Sharma elaborated in details about the type of boxes and the maintenance of the queen bee and workers by providing proper food and ideal environmental site for bee-keeping. This training is of continuous nature at GKU and is carried out under the guidance of Dr. Ajmer Singh (Dean) University College of Agriculture.
Dr. Nachhatter Singh Malhi, Vice-Chancellor appreciated this more by the UCOA as it provides regular income while learning for students and for the farmers by starting this venture with small investment.
