Says, “I was not at all confident about this role”
Taking the viewers on a brand new journey through the magical world of Baghdad, Sony SAB’s Aladdin: Naam Toh Suna Hoga has continued to keep its viewers glued to their screens post its season refresh. The show treated its audience to the entry of two new Genies – the very stunning female Genie, Genie Menie (Sonal Bhojwani) and adorable little Genie, Chaand Changez (Krishang Bhanushali).
Being the only female Genie on the show, Sonal Bhojwani is delighted by the attention she gets. However, there are times when she feels left out from all the boy talks taking place between the other cast on the sets as she says, “These guys group up and talk about certain things and as I try joining the conversation, they change the topic which makes me wonder what do they gossip about.”
Amusingly, Sonal went on to reveal how her male costars are the ones taking more time than her to get ready, “I find it funny that I get my touch up done within seconds but these boys, Siddharth, Pranit, Krishang and others, take more than 5 minutes for their touch ups and a fairly longer time to get ready too. This is really weird for me as usually, the female artists are the ones taking longer to get ready and it’s completely opposite here.”
Talking about her experience of taking up the role of Genie Menie, Sonal confessed that she was a bit skeptical about this role. “I was not at all confident about this role, at the time of auditions, as Genie Menie is completely opposite of Sonal. I am very mature and not-so feminine like Genie Menie who is really emotional, childish and sometimes naïve. This made me doubt if I could actually pull off the role.”
That said, things have turned to be working out in a positive way for Sonal, with this role, as she exclaims “It makes me overwhelmed seeing how the viewers have accepted Genie Menie and the love they are showering upon the character.”
