Beneficiaries of PM Kissan Samman Yojana to be linked with Kissan Credit Card

Dharamshala: All the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana will be linked with the Kisan Credit Card so that the beneficiary farmers can strengthen their economic condition by availing loans at cheaper rates. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Prajapati in a press conference on Sunday.

He said, “In Kangra district, one lakh ninety thousand farmers have been registered under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana, which is being provided by the government financial assistance of six thousand every year.On the other hand  93 thousand farmers of Kangra district have been linked with Kisan Credit Card. instructions have been given to officials to link other beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana with Kisan Credit Card within the next fifteen days.”

Prajapati said that all the banks have been asked to make the farmers aware of the process of making Kisan Credit Cards. Officials of Agriculture Department, Animal Husbandry Department, Fisheries Department instructed to organize awareness camps in this regard. “SMS Messages are also being sent to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana through the PM Kisan Portal to link themselves with the Kisan Credit Card”, said DC.

The Deputy Commissioner said that it has now been decided to provide Kisan Credit Cards for the farmers associated with animal husbandry and fisheries so that the farmers associated with animal husbandry and fisheries can also be benefitted. He informed that a provision has been made to provide interest subsidy of three percent from 12 thousand to fifteen thousand on one kanal of land , through Kisan Credit Card. He urged the beneficiaries of PM Kisan Samman Yojana that they can also apply to the respective banks for making credit cards. DDM NABARD Arun Khanna and leading bank managers were also present on the occasion.
