Benefits amounting to Rs 20 lakh passed under Punjab BOCW Board

Ludhiana, March 15, 2023: A meeting of the Sub-Division Committee Constituted under the Building and Other Construction Welfare Board, Punjab was called under the chairmanship of SDM west, Ludhiana Ms Swati Tiwana.
During this meeting, the financial benefits amounting to Rs 20,20,954 were decided to be extended to the registered beneficiary construction workers under 46 various welfare scheme applications raised by the registered construction workers.
The amount of this financial benefit will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiary workers through the DBT.
On this occasion, Assistant labour commissioner, Ludhiana, Sh. Pardeep Kumar & Sh. Gurpreet Singh illustrated that any person who has worked as a construction worker for more than 90 days in the last 12 months in the state of Punjab and whose age is between 18-60 years is eligible to be enrolled as a beneficiary of this board. The beneficiary once registered under this board & his family members can avail the benefits of various welfare schemes such as Scholarships, Shagun scheme, ex gratia, funeral, leave travel concessions, general and critical surgery claims, old age and widow pension, annual financial assistance for the care and protection of mentally retarded kids, maternity benefit and many more.
This meeting has been convened in the presence of Sh. Pardeep Kumar and Sh. Gurpreet Singh Assistant Labour Commissioner, Ludhiana, Sh. Baljinder Singh office of BDPO Ludhiana -1, Jagpret singh office of WRD, Sh. Ashwini Kumar DEO office, Sh. Puneet Sharma and Gurnoor Singh Punjab Mandi board office, Sh Ajay Bhanot water supply and sanitation office, all of them being the committee members.
SDM cum chairperson Ms. Swati tiwana directed all the committee members to register maximum beneficaries by organising awareness camps at potential spots.
