Beware of fake calls, emails or SMSs from Pak Intelligence Operatives

Ferozepur, September 25, 2012:  The people should remain vigilant on account of receiving of international calls, emails or short message service (SMSs) from Pak Intelligence Operatives (PIOs), said S. Karuna Raju, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur during a meeting with the officers of Army, police and representatives of mobile companies.

In fact, fraudsters seek to trap people by offering money saving deal or lottery prize money and the Pak Intelligence Operatives (PIOs) has adopted a new modus operandi for collecting or eliciting defence related information from ex-servicemen and PIOs are targeting cross section of persons which including service and retired armed forces, para military police personnel, railway officials posted in various proximal to defence installations and also the personnel of banks revenue department, sanik schools, kendariya vidayalaya and village panchayats, for which there is a need to launch a focused campaign for educating and alerting people about this form of espionage against India by inimical intelligence agencies. 

Deputy Commissioner informed that normally people receive calls and messages from Pakistan STD code +92, when they are said, you have won lottery of crores of rupees, for which you have to deposit certain amount in out account and then the amount of lottery will be given to you.

Deputy Commissioner further said, many people are becoming a victim of fraudsters net even the education class which includes police, Army and even the wives of civil officials are also involved.

Deputy Commissioner further informed that some people are also receiving emails regarding lottery and they should remain vigilant from such emails
