Gurdaspur/Chandigarh, November 3, 2024: On Sunday, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann campaigned for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Dera Baba Nanak assembly constituency Gurdeep Randhawa. The Chief Minister addressed a huge Jansabha in Kalanaur, urging people to support the AAP candidate. He also visited the famous Shiv Temple in Kalanaur to offer prayers.

While addressing the people, Mann claimed that this time the 'jharoo' (AAP symbol) would sweep everyone in Dera Baba Nanak. All survey reports indicate our victory. The people have decided to defeat Congress this time, as they have not done any work and have only registered false cases against the locals.

Mann targeted Congress leader and former MLA Sukhjinder Randhawa, stating that he would soon expose all his misdeeds. These people have looted Punjab. While in power, he (Randhawa) amassed billions in assets from Gurdaspur to Amritsar. I have the files on Randhawa. Attacking Pratap Bajwa, Mann said that as the PWD minister, he installed the highest number of toll plazas in Punjab. Since becoming Chief Minister, I have closed 16 toll plazas, saving the public over 62 lac rupees daily.

The Chief Minister said that they (AAP government) inherited a tangled system of 75 years. Fixing it will take some time, but we have made significant progress in two and a half years, and the results are now evident. Our work is speaking for itself; today, over 90% of households are receiving zero electricity bills. Opponents ask us where we will get the funds, but we have delivered because our intentions are clear. When intentions are pure, everything becomes possible.

In the past two and a half years, we have provided government jobs to over 45,000 young people without any bribery or favouritism. In previous governments, securing a government job without bribery was impossible. Recently, we implemented a historic decision by removing the requirement for an NOC for registrations. Additionally, we introduced the 'One MLA One Pension' policy, which saves the Punjab treasury millions of rupees each month. Previously, many former legislators were receiving seven or eight pensions; now, they receive only one.

Mann also attacked the Akali Dal Badal, stating that those who claimed nothing would happen in Punjab without them knowing have fled from election field. They couldn't even find four candidates for the by-elections.

The Chief Minister urged the public to choose a good representative this time, freeing themselves from these looters. Gurdeep Randhawa is an honest person who is well aware of the issues in the area. Support him, and I promise to address any tasks he brings to me promptly, Mann said.

“Randhawa family is synonym of hooliganism; the people will teach them a lesson this” - Gurdeep Randhawa

While addressing the public, AAP candidate Gurdeep Randhawa stated that Congress members, especially Sukhjinder Randhawa, have only done hooliganism in Dera Baba Nanak. This time, the people of Dera Baba Nanak will teach them (traditional politicians) a lesson. The Congress candidate and Randhawa's wife, Jatinder Kaur, used to carry a suitcase during the panchayat elections and appointed several sarpanches using money. It is an opportunity to teach them a lesson.
