Defence Minister Rajnath Singh lauded the role of Punjab's ex-servicemen: Chetan Singh Jauramajra
Chandigarh, April 11, 2023: On behalf of the Chief Minister Punjab Cabinet Minister of Defence Services Welfare Punjab Chetan Singh Jauramajra attended the 31st Kendriya Sainik Board meeting held at Vigiyan Bhawan New Delhi.It was held under the Chairmanship of Rajnath Singh, Hon'ble Defence Minister of India. The Meeting was attended by Ministers from various States, Higher Officials from Ministry of Defence and other higher Officials of Kendriya Sainik Board, respective Rajya Sainik Boards.
During this meeting the Hon'ble Defence Minister said that the Ex servicemen are a national asset. Their contribution in defence of the motherland, nation building and various other natural calamities is highly commendable. Their contribution during Covid-19 needs a special mention. He also lauded the ex-servicemen of Punjab who have always fought valiantly in protecting our borders and whole countnry is indebted
Various Welfare Schemes for the Ex servicemen and their dependents were reviewed and special emphasis was laid on the resettlement efforts to be made for the Ex servicemen who retire at very young age.
Chetan Singh Jauramajra said that Bhagwant Mann government is making all out efforts for the welfare of our ex-servicemen and the Defence Minister appreciated the Punjab Government's Commitment for the welfare of Ex- servicemen fraternity. Cabinet Minister Punjab re-iterated the commitment of his Government in providing 13% reservation quota in all jobs, welfare schemes for Ex servicemen and infrastructure provided by the Punjab Government.
Recognizing the contributions of Punjab's ex-servicemen Jauramajra stated that his government salutes all of ex-servicemen for service to the nation.
