Bhagwant Mann Hails AAP Volunteers as the Backbone of the Party, Credits Arvind Kejriwal for Transforming Indian Politics

Ludhiana, April 1, 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, addressing the gathering during the Executive Summit in Ludhiana, expressed his deep gratitude towards the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteers, calling them the true driving force behind the party’s success. 

Mann praised AAP Volunteers' unwavering commitment and described them as passionate torchbearers of the party’s ideology. Mann also emphasized the ongoing efforts to bring positive changes to Punjab and assured volunteers of the party’s unwavering commitment to the people.

"AAP volunteers are not just political workers; they are a revolution in themselves. Whenever the party calls upon them, they respond immediately without hesitation, dedicating themselves fully to the cause of clean and people-centric politics," said Mann.

The Punjab Chief Minister lauded AAP National Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for fundamentally changing the political discourse in India. "Earlier, election manifestos were filled with divisive agendas based on religion and caste. It was AAP that forced all political parties to focus on real issues like education, healthcare, and free electricity. We compelled them to change their priorities because we showed that good governance is possible," he asserted.

Mann also praised senior AAP leaders, including former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and ex-Health Minister Satyendar Jain, for their transformative contributions to Delhi’s education and healthcare sectors. "Manish Sisodia revolutionized government schools, making them world-class institutions. Satyendar Jain introduced a healthcare model that became a benchmark across India. Their work has left an indelible mark on the lives of common people," he stated.

Mann said, "Sanjeev Arora, who is contesting from Ludhiana West, has utilized the Rajya Sabha funds for hospitals and schools for underprivileged children. Our leaders have clear instructions from our convener: public money should be used for the public." He also acknowledged the rise in the number of AAP representatives, noting, “In 2022, we had 92 representatives, and now we have 95. Thousands of our sarpanches, councillors, and mayors have been elected. The responsibility of Punjab has been entrusted to us, and we assure you that our AAP family will never have any greedy members.”

The Punjab CM also highlighted the speech of AAP Punjab President Aman Arora, endorsing his vision and strategy for the party’s future growth in Punjab and beyond. "AAP is not just a party; it is a movement. Under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, we will continue to expand and bring governance that prioritizes the people over politics," Mann affirmed.

Mann said, "Whether it's the establishment of schools, providing free electricity, purchasing thermal plants, or closing 18 toll plazas that saved us 62 to 63 lakh per day, AAP is committed to improving the state's infrastructure. We’ve also taken strong decisions in our fight against drugs, ensuring that strict actions are taken. If someone has destroyed someone's home to build their own, we will not let them continue for long."

Mann said, "For areas where drug peddlers are causing harm, we’ve created a WhatsApp number for people to report, ensuring that the information remains confidential. We consider those who use drugs as patients, and we will provide them treatment and employment."

Mann said, "Date for planting paddy is June 1st, and the crop will be ready between September 15-20, when the weather is dry and moisture levels are low. The FCI's standards require a maximum of 18% moisture, so planting paddy earlier will help farmers to meet these standards. In the past, there were issues with the availability of electricity and water. The electricity board wanted to push this crop closer to the monsoon, but now we face no shortage of electricity or water."

Mann said, "We are laying over 15,000 kilometers of irrigation channels (khaal), including both surface and underground water systems. Our state is no longer facing shortages of water or electricity."

Mann said, "We have provided 700 jobs today, bringing the total to 54,003. This number will rise further, with 2,000 more teaching positions to be filled in the coming days."

Mann said, "Our ministers have never said the treasury is empty. The treasury never runs dry; it is the intentions of those sitting on the treasury that are empty."

Mann said, "In the last three years, we have cleaned up the mess created by previous governments. The work has just begun. We have been guided by Arvind Kejriwal, who has shown us the new direction, and today, we will outline a road map for Punjab's future under his leadership."

Mann concluded by urging AAP supporters to stay united and work tirelessly for the party’s mission of clean governance, vowing that AAP will continue to fight for the rights of the common people and ensure transparency and accountability in administration.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab In-Charge and senior leader Manish Sisodia, addressing the executive meeting in Ludhiana, expressed his deep gratitude to AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal for entrusting him with the responsibility of Punjab.
"I consider myself truly fortunate that Arvind Kejriwal has sent me back to Punjab to serve as the state’s in-charge," Sisodia said. "Every single person sitting here introduces themselves as part of Team Kejriwal, and that is our greatest strength."
Sisodia highlighted that AAP’s vision and movement are not limited to Punjab alone. "This is not just Team Punjab; this is Team Hindustan. When I meet volunteers, I realize that our Punjab workers are everywhere – from Delhi to Haryana to Gujarat – working tirelessly to plant the seeds of change months before elections and ensuring AAP’s victory."
Sharing a deeply emotional experience, Sisodia narrated an encounter with a party worker who had dedicated 12 years of his life to AAP. "This volunteer did not ask me for a position or for an appointment with Arvind Kejriwal or Bhagwant Mann. He only had one request: 'Manish bhai, I have given 12 years to this party, but if Punjab is not freed from drugs, my 12 years will be wasted.' Tears welled in his eyes as he pleaded with me, not for personal gain, but for the future of Punjab. This is the spirit of AAP – selfless, dedicated, and driven by a vision of a better Punjab."
Sisodia assured every AAP worker that their hard work would not go in vain. "I want to tell every single worker in Punjab – Punjab will not be ruined – those who spread drugs will be. The drug mafia and those who profit from this menace will be eradicated."
AAP has already demonstrated its commitment to education, healthcare, and infrastructure. "In just three years, we have achieved what traditional parties failed to do in 75 years. Our Mohalla Clinics and education reforms have transformed lives. We promised free electricity, and we delivered."
Sisodia said that the recently passed Punjab budget reflects the long-term vision of Kejriwal and Mann for the state. "This is not just a one- or two-year plan – it is a roadmap for Punjab’s future. Every village will have a playground, ponds will be cleaned, and broken roads will be repaired. This is Kejriwal’s vision, Bhagwant Mann  and Harpal Singh Cheema has ensured its implementation in the budget."
He called upon all AAP workers to be vigilant and ensure that government initiatives reach the people without any corruption or inefficiency. "Our battle is not just against drugs but also against corruption. The money allocated for public welfare should be spent on the people, not wasted in scams. This is the responsibility of every AAP worker."
Sisodia paid tribute to Punjab’s revolutionary spirit, reminding everyone of its history of sacrifice. "This is the land of the Gurus, the land of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. This is where people shed their blood for the nation. The years of struggle by AAP workers will not go in vain. Punjab will transform, and this transformation will inspire the entire nation. The revolution that begins in Punjab will change India."

Reflecting on AAP’s resounding victory in municipal elections, he credited the hard work of grassroots workers and urged them to continue their unwavering dedication.
Arora emphasized that AAP’s leadership, under Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, is deeply committed to Punjab’s progress. He likened party workers to high-voltage power lines, cautioning adversaries against underestimating their strength. Looking ahead to 2027, he urged the cadre to work relentlessly, pledging to surpass AAP’s 2022 record-breaking mandate.
