Bhangra camp concludes at CT Group
Folk dance is the best way to remain fit and healthy: Manbir Singh Jalandhar, June 18, 2019: The ten day 17th folk dance learning camp got concluded in the Sardarni Manjit Kaur Auditorium of CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur campus. The camp was organised by Surtal Sabhyachar Sath under the supervision of Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Former Registrar, GNDU. In this camp, around 500 participants of age 7 years till 55 years took part and learned various Bhangra techniques. Out of these 500 participants, 150 were shortlisted who competed for Bhangra and Giddah on the final day today. The participants were divided into 6 teams with different age groups. The judges for the same remained Dr. Harjit Singh, Sukhjinder Singh Bajwa, Gurpreet Kaur and Parminder Kaur. The stage was hosted by Vikas Mongia. Balbir Chand was honored with Lifetime Achievers Award due to his selfless contribution in retaining youth with folk dance specially Bhangra. On this occasion, CT Group Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh, Cultural Officer Davinder Singh, Paramjeet Singh, Rajan Aujla etc were present. The key organizer Neete Raj Singh thanked all the participants for showing up great enthusiasm and zeal in this long camp. CT Group Managing Director Manbir Singh appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and said, “This is a great platform given to people of all age groups to remain fit in a joyful way as dance is one of the best forms of workout and folk dance is one of the best ways to remain fit and healthy.”
