Bharat Bhushan Ashu inaugurates 2 static compactors today
40 Compactors to be set up in different parts of city: Ashu
Ludhiana: Punjab Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu today inaugurated 2 static compactors near Lodhi Club and behind Orient Cinema in Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar area of the city. While speaking on the occasion, he assured the residents that soon, Ludhiana would become a garbage free city.
He said that for better and effective management of solid waste, static compactors are being installed at 40 different points of the city. He said that these static compactors have been installed for better and effective management of solid waste in the area.
He was also accompanied by Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, Ludhiana Improvement Trust Chairman Raman Balasubramaniam, MC Councillors Dr Hari Singh Brar and Sunny Bhalla, senior Congress leaders Sunil Kapoor, Baljinder Singh Dhillon, MC Joint Commissioner Kulpreet Singh, besides several others.
While speaking on the occasion, Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that he is committed to making Ludhiana garbage free and urged the residents to assist the Civic body for this social cause. He said that for better and effective management of solid waste, a total of 40 static compactors are being installed in different parts of the city. He said that at these static compactors, the solid waste is first segregated into wet and dry waste and then compressed five times so that it can be managed and transported in an effective manner.
