Bharat Bhushan Ashu inaugurates RUSA Seminar Hall at GCG
The college is among the four model colleges of Punjab
Ludhiana: The inaugural ceremony of "RUSA Seminar Hall" of Govt college for Girls, Ludhiana commenced with ribbon cutting and lamp lighting ceremony by Bharat Bhushan Ashu Ji, Cabinet Minister, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, marking the official opening of seminar hall.
Welcoming the chief guest and other dignitaries, Principal GCG, Dr. Sukhwinder Kaur said that the college is among the four model colleges of Punjab and this hall is constructed under RUSA Scheme with 60:40 share of center and state government.
Addressing the gathering, Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that this is the best college that falls in his constituency and he thanked madam principal, staff and students on achieving excellent results in academic sports and cultural activities. He also focused on strengthening of minds of the youth. He announced two grants of five lakhs each for library and meditation center. He also announced that open gym will be established in the college by the government.
On this occasion, Mrs. Mamta Ashu, MC Councillor was also present and she was enthralled by the cultural function presented by teachers of GCG.
Cultural program included Ganesh Vandana by Miss Neha, Sufi Song by Mrs. Anita Sharma and instrumental mashup by Dr. Yogesh Sharma., semi classical Dr. Nimita Sharma and Folk songs by Dr Sharanjit Parmar. The audience was mesmerised by Songs of Miss Taru Sugandha, the Guest performer.
The function was graced by the warm presence of many guests including Youth leader Ishwarjot Singh Cheema, Ravinder Singh, Satnam Singh, Bhupinder Singh. The function concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice principal Mrs. Kirpal Kaur.
