Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Mayor and LIT Chairman take up development issues with Local Bodies Minister
Urge minister to launch OTS Scheme regarding building bylaws
Ludhiana: A delegation led by Punjab Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu and Ludhiana Improvement Trust chairman Raman Balasubramaniam today held a meeting with Local Bodies Minister Brahm Mohindra at Chandigarh. In the meeting, the leaders took up several issues related to the ongoing development of Ludhiana city.
The leaders also urged the local bodies minister that in a bid to provide maximum benefit to people residing in urban areas, the department should launch One Time Settlement (OTS) scheme pertaining to building bylaws immediately.
Bharat Bhushan Ashu informed that several issues related to the development projects of Ludhiana city need to be addressed on priority basis. He said that Local Bodies Minister Brahm Mohindra was apprised of these issues, who directed the senior officials of Local Bodies department to address them on priority basis.
Ashu said that the Capt Amarinder Singh led Punjab government is committed to carrying out overall development in Ludhiana city and that work on projects worth thousands of crores is already underway.
The leaders also congratulated the Cabinet Minister over the thumping victory of the Congress party in recently held MC elections. They said that this victory is a testimony of the pro-development agenda of the Congress-led Punjab government.
Today’s meeting was also attended by AK Sinha, Secretary, Local Bodies Punjab, Puneet Goyal, Director, Local Government, Ajoy Sharma, CEO, Punjab Municipal Infrastructure Development Company, and other senior officials.
