Ludhiana: Punjab Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu and Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu today condoled the death of Meenu Talwar (47), wife of Congress MLA from Ludhiana (East) Sanjay Talwar. Following a brief illness, Meenu Talwar passed away at Medanta Hospital, Gurugram early today morning and was cremated at Gau Ghar Cremation Ground, today afternoon.

    She is survived by her husband Sanjay Talwar and two sons, Kunwar Talwar and Kanav Talwar.

    Bharat Bhushan Ashu attended the cremation along with his wife and MC Councillor Mamta Ashu and his other family members. He said that he had close family relations with the family of Sanjay Talwar and it is a personal loss to him.

    Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu spoke to Sanjay Talwar over the phone and shared their heartfelt sympathies. Captain Amarinder said his prayers were with the bereaved family in their hour of grief.

    MLAs Rakesh Pandey, Surinder Dawar, Kuldeep Singh Vaid, Gurkirat Singh Kotli and Lakhvir Singh Lakha, and Political Secretary to CM Captain Sandeep Singh Sandhu also shared their heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, relatives and friends in this hour of grief and prayed to the Almighty to give strength to bear this irreparable loss and grant eternal peace to the departed soul.

    Prominent among those who attended Meenu Talwar’s cremation included Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, former Minister and District Planning Board Ludhiana chairman Malkit Singh Dakha, Chairman Amarjit Singh Tikka, Chairman KK Bawa, Chairman Pawan Dewan, Chairman Gurpreet Singh Bassi, Ludhiana Improvement Trust chairman Raman Balasubramaniam, councillors Sunny Bhalla, Rakesh Parashar and Gurdeep Singh Neetu, Vice Chairman Mohd Gulab, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, MC Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal, ADC (General) Amarjit Bains, besides a large number of people from all walks of life.
