Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh holds meeting
Pressing issues of workers’ discussed
Chandigarh: Office-bearers of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh(BMS), Contract & Outsourced Workers , Chandigarh held an important meeting here. The meeting was addressed by BMS(Chandigarh & Haryana) in-charge (Prabhari) Tarandeep Singh Grewal. The general secretary of the sangh Prabhunath Shahi gave information about the issues taken up in the meeting. The main issues that were discussed included the issue of workers' fired under the Gem portal system, implementation of Punjab's regularisation policy of 2011 in Chandigarh, and inclusion of contract workers in Chandigarh Administration's March 2015 regularisation policy. Alongside this the issues of equal work- equal pay to be implemented in totality and safeguarding of jobs of ex-defence personnel in the forest department were also taken up. Apart from these issues, GMCH bonus, teachers' issues, data entry operators' issue, higher education department's issues and issues related to employees working in sanctioned posts in the state library also were discussed.
Shahi added that BMS will work wholeheartedly for the welfare of workers. Those present in the meeting included Vinod Kumar, Indira Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Babloo Birla and Gurpreet Singh Bawa. The district secretary of BMS Malkit Singh was accompanied by Om Kailash and Badri Prasad Kaushik also during the meeting.
