Bhumbla Family donated Rs 60 lakh for scholarships for students of College of Agriculture, Ballowal Saunkhri
Ludhiana, April 7, 2022: The eminent scientist of Punjab Agriculture University Late. Dr. Dev Raj Bhumbla's family donated Rs. 60 lakhs to start scholarships for students of College of Agricultural, Balowal Saunkhari. On this occasion Mr. Davinder Bhumbala and Mr. Virender Bhumbala gave a check with amount Rs. 60 lakh in memory of their father Dr. Dev Raj Bhumbla to director Dr. Manmohanjit Singh. The Bhumbla family also interacted the students and blessed them for a better future with an educated and healthy life.
On this occasion, Remembering Dr. Dev Raj Bhumbla, the director Dr. Manmohanjit Singh said that Punjab Agriculture University has dedicated Regional Research Center of Ballowal Saunkhari to Dr Bhumbla. Dr. Bhumbla made a significant contribution to the development of agriculture through his research. Dr. Manmohanjit Singh further informed that Dr. Dev Raj Bhumbla achieved very high positions during his professional career like DDG (ICAR), Commissioner of Agriculture (Government of India) and Vice Chancellor, Haryana Agriculture University, Hisar.
While thanking the Bhumbla family, he said that Dr. Dev Raj Bhumbla's life is a source of inspiration for agricultural students. Based on This corpus fund every year meritorious students will be awarded the scholarship. On this occasion academic coordinator Dr Vijay Kumar and Dr Gurvinder Singh was also present.
