Bhupinder Singh Basant appointed as senior vice chairman of Punjab Traders Board

Ludhiana: Ludhiana-based congress worker Bhupinder Singh Basant has been appointed as Senior Vice Chairman of Punjab Traders Board.
A notification was issued by A Venu Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary Taxation to Government of Punjab, Department of Excise and Taxation in which the office bearers for the Punjab Traders Board were announced.
Bhupinder Singh Basant said that he is very thankful to the government for showing faith in him and considering him for this position. “Punjab Traders Board is the board that works to bridge the gap between the traders/ businessmen and the excise and taxation department of the government. Along with conveying and spreading awareness of the instructions of the department to the traders, the board also works to convince the department to fulfill the requirement of the traders so that the business sector of the state can grow well with the proper coordination with the department,” he said.
He added that for the past around 14 months, the business sector is facing slowdown due to pandemic situations so there are some requirements of the traders which the government can fulfill. “So, I will bring those requirements to the notice of the government so that these can be fulfilled and the business sector can revive,” he said.
Bhupinder Singh Basant will serve in this position for two years.
