Bike lifter gang busted, 21 bikes recovered
The accused used to steal the motorcycles from the nearby areas to sale them later
Ferozepur: The Ferozepur police have arrested five members belonging to bike lifting gang in Ferozepur and Guruahrsahai. Giving details, SSP Bhagirath Singh Meena said that following the inputs the police had arrested one person identified as Deepak Kumar (22) from Village Jhawla in Guruharsahai sub-division.
“The accused used to steal the motorcycles from the nearby areas to sale them later. The police had received inputs that the accused Deepak Kumar was coming to Village Jahwla to sale a stolen motorcycle. Following the inputs, a trap was laid down and the accused was nabbed near the government primary school in Guruharsahai and a black color bike (Hero Honda Splendor without number) was recovered from him. Later 12 more motorcycles were recovered as per the information provided by the accused. One other accused identified as Ramni was also booked with him”, said SSP.
A case under section 379,411 IPC was registered against the accused Deepak and Ramni (FIR No. 119 Dated 15.07.2021).
In other case, three members of a bike lifter gang were arrested in the cantonment area. The accused have been identified as Vishal (23) resuident of Village Sher Khan, Mandeep Singh (31) a resident of Village Basti Vakeelan Wali in Zira Sub-division and Sagar (26), a resident of cantonment area. SSP Meena said that the accused were involved in several cases of stealing motorbikes. “all of them were arrested from the cantonment area and later 8 motorcycles and one Activa bike were recovered from them”, said SSP.
The accused were booked under sections 379, 411 IPC at cantonment police station (FIR No. 73 Dated 19.07.2021).
In one other incident, the police nabbed three accused identified as Akash (19), Sonu (25), Sajan (22) and recovered 14 mobile phones and a bike from them. “The accused were involved in several incidents of mobile snatching. The accused have been booked under 379-B and 411 IPC at city police station (FIR No. 206 dated 19.07.2021).
