Binnu Dhillon and Gurnam Bhullar starrer `Fuffad Ji’ to stream on ZEE5 on Dec 17
ZEE5, India’s largest home-grown video streaming platform and multilingual storyteller for a billion audiences, launched the successful campaign Rajj Ke Vekho in September as part of which it released blockbuster Punjabi movies like Puaada, Qismat 2 and Jinne Jamme Saare Nikamme which received an overwhelming response on the platform. To further strengthen its footprint in Punjab, ZEE5 has announced the premiere of its next film, ‘Fuffad Ji’ which after a successful run at the box office is now gearing for a digital premiere on 17th December.
In a Punjabi household, ‘Fuffad Ji’ is treated with the utmost respect. The movie ‘Fuffad Ji’ is based on this dynamic only. However, in this movie, the rule of the older ‘Fuffad Ji’ (played by Binnu Dhillon) is challenged by the new son-in-law (played by Gurnam Bhullar) of the family. The plot further thickens as whenever Binnu and Gurnam cross paths, they end up having a tussle, sometimes in a very subtle or quirky way, and sometimes in a very strong way.
Directed by Pankaj Batra, written by Raju Verma and produced by Zee Studios and K Kumar Studios, ‘Fuffad Ji’ bank on a comedy of errors and is a wholesome family entertainer. It also stars Jassie Gill, Jasmin Bajwa and Sidhika Sharma in pivotal roles.
Manish Kalra, Chief Business Officer, ZEE5 India said, “After the overwhelming response to the successful launch of our Punjab focused campaign ‘ZEE5 Rajj Ke Vekho’, we are excited to continue our efforts in delivering good content to our strong Punjabi customer base. As part of this vision, we are happy to present another ‘Straight-from-the-theatre' title, ‘Fuffad Ji’ which is a story rooted in Punjab’s heartland. We are thrilled to keep this large user base engaged and entertained with our focussed content offering”.
Director Pankaj Batra commented, “I have always yearned to tell stories which people can relate to, and which bring families together for wholesome entertainment and that’s exactly what ‘Fuffad Ji’ aims to do. I am thrilled that people across 190+ countries will get to watch this on ZEE5 and laugh their way through this comedy of errors film”.
Actor Binnu Dhillon commented, “These types of roles inspired by real-life traditions really appeal to me and I am glad that we are able to keep our culture alive by showcasing a part of our traditions. ‘Fuffad Ji’ is about one such tradition of giving extra importance to sons-in-law within the Punjabi culture. I am sure that many will relate to it and laugh with it”.
Actor Gurnam Bhullar commented, “I was excited about this film since the time I read the script and even today, after a successful run at the box office, I am equally excited about this family entertainer as it is wholesome and close to home. I hope that you and your family watch this together and relive similar moments experienced by you.
