Birth anniversary of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan commemorated
The panel discussion was attended by faculty, research scholars and the students
Chandigarh: To commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan on 5th of September 2020 an online panel discussion was organised by Department of Education, Panjab University Chandigarh.
The panel discussion was inaugurated by Professor Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor , Panjab University. In his lecture Prof. Raj Kumar highlighted the importance of teachers in building of a nation and he cited that in National Education Policy great emphasis has been paid for the development of teachers as this policy has appreciated the importance of teachers in teaching - learning process. He also acknowledges and thanked all the teachers who got retired in last one year from Panjab University.
The panelists were padamshree Professor Krishna Kumar, former director NCERT and professor Asha Sethi, former faculty, Department of Education, Panjab University and moderator of the session was Professor Kirandeep Singh, chairperson Department of Education.
With a very positive note professor Krishan Kumar said that 5th September is a day to feel confident that despite all odds teaching never stopped. Teacher was always there for students by this he appreciated the importance of teacher. Prof Asha Sethi stressed that teacher is the the real maker of history. His main aim is at making their students good human being with specific skills and expertise. The panel discussion was attended by faculty, research scholars and the students. In the end Prof. Jatinder Grover, Dean, Faculty of Education proposed vote of thanks.
