BITTER TRUTH: Health of Health Department gets worst

Ferozepur, December 13, 2012:  Before the start of winter season, the health of Health Department is seen as deteriorating. 

Whereas there is a controversy between the Health Minister and Chief Parliamentary Secretary, the people deprived of the services due to shortage of staff and administrative problems are compelled to register their protests, on account of shortage of doctors and other infra-structure. 

The NGOs and people of Jalalabad, the constituency of Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister, are sitting on dharna for the last 15 days, to provide the health services in the government hospital.

As per the sources, it has come on surface that the condition of Abohar, Fazilka, Jalalabad urban and rural dispensaries is not good, with the result; the people of these areas have to rush to Ganganagar, Ludhiana or Chandigarh to get the treatment.  It is pertinent to mention here that Cancer in this part of Punjab is on the increasing trend and less is being initiated by the Punjab Government health department in practical.

The gynecology ward constructed at a cost of Rs.3 crore in third storey of Civil Hospital, Ferozepur is also without any Gynecologist.   

Punjab President of Education Reforms Committee, Jaswant Singh Gill, state leader Hans Raj, Master Sukhchain Singh, former Congress MLAs Hans Raj Jossan, Mohinder Kumar Rinwa have demanded from the chief minister and health minister, to take care of the health department on priority by making available the required staff and infrastructure so that the people of area could have a sigh of relief.
