Chandigarh, March 20, 2017: In a press note issued today, S.Bhupinder Singh Mann, Ex MP, national President of BKU welcomed the stern steps taken today by Capt Amarinder Singh for ensuring smooth procurement of wheat in the coming season.

He was reacting to the decision of Government to cancel all the labour and transportation tenders issued during the erstwhile Badal regime for the upcoming wheat procurement season. He said that in the last procurement season of wheat, farmers had to face lot of hardships due to rampant corruption in the procurement system. He also welcomed directions of the the Chief Minister for all-out efforts by the officers to ensure timely and full procurement of every single grain of wheat from the farmers, who had suffered a harrowing time last year as a result of the ill-conceived agricultural policy of the erstwhile SAD-BJP regime.

Going by our experience in 2002 to 2007, we are very sure that farmers will not face any hardship for selling their crop in Mandis and also they will get full MSP unlike in the earlier government when farmers were looted by paying much less than the MSP by the "Procurement Mafia" which ruled roost for last 10 years.

S. Mann said that "we have been supporting Capt Amarinder Singh since 2000 because we feel that his governance skills are necessary for eliminating rot in the system"
