Bloggers and influencers meet for creating awareness regarding solid waste segregation organised today

Ludhiana: Mayor Mr Balkar Singh Sandhu today informed that Waste Segregation and Management is one of the recurring issues in Ludhiana and Punjab. With an aim to manage and streamline the segregation process, the Punjab Government is installing waste compactors in different parts of Ludhiana.
The Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) in collaboration with Ludhiana Municipal Corporation is setting portable compactors at different locations in the city, including Sarabha Nagar, Rishi Nagar, Kitchlu Nagar, BRS Nagar and near Kochar Market.
Today, under the guidance of the Cabinet Minister Mr. Bharat Bhushan Ashu a special event at Portable Waste Compactor Transfer Station located at Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana was organised.
MC Councillors Mrs Mamta Ashu, Mr Sunny Bhalla, Mr Narinder Sharma, Mr Jai Prakash, Mrs Amrit Varsha Rampal, Mrs Seema Kapoor, Mr Pankaj Sharma Kaka, Mr Hari Singh Brar, Mrs Rashi Hemraj Aggarwal, Mr Baljinder Singh Bunty, Mr Dilraj Singh, Ex-Councillor Mr Hemraj Aggarwal, Joint Commissioner Mrs Swati Tiwana, Zonal Commissioner Zone C Mr Neeraj Jain, Senior Congress leader Mr Sunil Kapoor and some of the social personalities including Dr Satbhushan Pandhi, Mr Narinder Singh Masson, Nandini Gupta, Manisha Kapoor, and Child Artist Dhairya Tandon were present at the event.
Mrs Mamta Ashu informed that Ludhiana’s renowned Bloggers and Influencers also paid a visit to the station and motivated the residents to follow the guidelines issued by the government.
In the end, everybody took a pledge to contribute their part in this campaign by segregating dry and wet waste at the source.
The event was extremely successful and people appreciated the efforts made by the government and administration.
