Blood donation camp at GNA University
Jalandhar, December 9, 2021: The NSS wing of GNA University in collaboration with 'Hindustan Welfare Blood Donors Club, Phagwara' organised Blood Donation camp at the University campus to create awareness and motivate the youth for Blood Donation and to even help anyone, in case of any requirement for blood. Many volunteers came forward to donate blood for this philanthropic cause
Under the stewardship of Gurmeet Singh, the NSS Coordinator of the University created a wave among the students and staff for this social cause. In total, 202 units were enthusiastically donated by the GNA family. Neeraj Bakhshi (Public Relation Officer), Vikram Gupta (President), Harjinder Gogna (Vice President) and Vitin Puri (General Secretary) of the Welfare Blood Donors Club, Phagwara' took a great leap in igniting the spirit of humanitarianism through this blood donation camp.
Gurdeep Singh Sihra, the Pro- Chancellor of the University inaugurated the camp and appreciated the youth for this great initiative towards social service. He said, “Donating blood is a form of service in the name of humanity and I am really awed to witness the spirit among students and faculty of the University.”
Dr VK Rattan, the Vice Chancellor of the University expressed, “I am glad to witness the serving attitude of the students for the society.” Many students and even faculty members donated blood and became the part of this social awareness drive.
All the Heads & Deans of various faculties appreciated the interest of the volunteers to be an enthusiastic part of this activity at the University level. Female students also came forward to donate their blood. During this activity the students showed great enthusiasm and pledged to serve the nation. Every participant was acknowledged with a Volunteer’s Certificate as a matter of pride.
