Blood donation camp held at GKU

Talwandi Sabo, March 31, 2014: Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo organised a blood donation camp. This camp was inaugurated by Managing Director S Sukhraj Singh Sidhu and Vice-Chancellor Dr. N.S Malhi. On this occasion a team from Dayanand Medical College, Ludhiana headed by Dr Harash Sharma, collected the blood units and helped the volunteers. Pawan Mehta from blood donation council, Rampura Phul did great efforts to strengthen the camp.
Dr. A.K Kansal told that 112 blood units were donated on this occasion. He further added that the NSS Unit of GKU organises the blood donation camp every year in the campus. Not only volunteer students but the staff members also donated blood in this camp.
Dr. N.S.Malhi Vice-Chancellor motivated the students that they should participate in maximum in such type of work which helps the society a lot and donating blood is service of humanity in real sense. This donation also spread smiles to number of families, he added.
Prof. Jagwinder Singh and Prof. Simmi, NSS Coordinators told that certificates were also issued by DMC team to the volunteers and the refreshment was also arranged for the volunteers on this occasion. Prof. Vijaynder Singh, Prof. Gurdeep Singh ad Prof. Kanwaldeep Singh did praise worthy job during this camp.
Apart from the others Registrar Satish Goswami, Dr. Ravinder Sumal and Prof. Amit Tuteja were also present on this occasion.
