Blood Donation Drive at UIAMS

Chandigarh, August 25, 2022: University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, Panjab University organised a blood donation drive at its campus today. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Rupinder Kaur, Chief Medical Officer,Bhai Ghanaiya Ji Institute of Health Panjab University. The medical teamfor the blood donation drive came from Blood Center, Civil Hospital, sector 6, Panchkula, and was headed by Dr. Amit Sammi. The event was coordinated by Dr. Manjushri Sharma and Dr. Naveen Kumar, faculty members at UIAMS. Rotary Club Midtown Chandigarh, and Inner Wheel, Chandigarh Midtown were the associating social partners of the event.
The event evoked an overwhelming response from the students as well as teaching and non-teaching staff of Panjab University. The members from Rotaract Club of Soaring Monks also volunteered as donors. Forty units of blood were collected during the drive.
Dr. Sanjay Kalra, President Rotary Club Midtown Chandigarh, Mrs. Rekha, Vice President Inner Wheel club Chandigarh Midtown, and Dr. Vanita Gupta, Former Director Health Services, Chandigarh and Chairperson Community services at Rotary, handed over the certificates and mementos to the blood donors. The club members, including Dr. Indu Luther Dr. Rita Kalra, and Ritu felicitated the student coordinators of the event, and encouraged them to continue their social responsibility endeavours.
Dr. Monika Aggarwal, Director UIAMS, thanked the students and staff for being a part of this noble event of donating blood and doing their bit to save precious human lives.
