Regular blood donors being felicitated on World Blood Donor Day on Friday at Ivy Hospital, Mohali.
Mohali, June 14, 2019: Around dozen regular blood donors were felicitated to mark World Blood Donor Day at Ivy Hospital, Mohali on Friday.
During occasion around 100 units of blood were also collected during a blood donation camp for staff at hospital. Doctors, para-medial and admin staff of hospital donated blood during camp.
Mamit Sharma , Kranti Sharma, Suresh Dadhwal and Gurmeet Kaur the regular blood donors from long time were among those donors who were felicitated by Gurtej Singh and Dr Kanwaldeep Kaur, chairman and medical director of Ivy Group of Hospital respectively.
Dr Kanwaldeep said that an adequate supply can only be assured through regular donations by voluntary, unpaid blood donors.
Transfusion of blood and blood components helps save millions of lives every year, said Dr Nidhi Vashist , blood transfusion officer adding it can help patients suffering from life-threatening conditions.
