Jalandhar, August 20, 2024: The Youth Club, in collaboration with the Department of Punjabi of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, celebrated 'Teej' in all its exuberance and glory. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar was the chief guest of the day.

Students and staff members participated in the merriment, with students taking part in a lively ‘Kikli’ competition. As the echoes of laughter, dance, and celebration resonated through the campus, the Teej festivities encapsulated the essence of cultural heritage and community bonding. These traditions, woven with threads of unity and joy, served as a reminder of the richness of our heritage and the strength of our collective spirit.

Nail art, mehndi, and bangle stalls were set up, along with food stalls offering various delicacies. A swing was installed in the college premises to enliven the ancient heritage of this festival, which is observed every year during the monsoons as a cheery reminiscence of Punjabi culture and its ambience by newly-wedded women who visit their parents' houses and immerse themselves in festive mirth.

It is worth mentioning that the festival is also celebrated in other parts of the country, transcending religious boundaries.

Teej was also joyfully celebrated in the PCM S.D. Collegiate Block, adding to the vibrant atmosphere across the campus. Mrs. Sushma Sharma, in charge of the PCM S.D. Collegiate Block, was praised for her efforts in making students aware of cultural traditions like this, further enriching the celebration.

President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee, and reverent Principal Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar commended the efforts of the departments in perpetuating the legacy of this yearly fiesta across generations.
