Chandigarh September 2, 2024: The Department of Mathematics at Panjab University Chandigarh hosted a book launch event, where three faculty members unveiled their latest publications. Chairperson Suman Bala launched the books in the presence of former Vice-Chancellor Professor Arun Grover.
The books, published by international reputed publisher Springer-Nature, include 'Algebraic Number Theory' by Professor Sudesh Khanduja, 'A Comprehensive Textbook on Metric Spaces' by Dr. Surinder Pal Singh Kainth, and 'Geometry of Numbers' by Professors Madhu Raka, Hans Gill, and Rajinder Sehmi.
The seminar featured talks by the authors, who shared insights into their books' contents, highlighting new ideas and relevance to current undergraduate and postgraduate curricula. Over 150 students, faculty, and scholars attended the event.
Chairperson Suman Bala emphasized the importance of mathematics and its applications to all walks of science and technology, highlighting the department's commitment to advancing mathematical knowledge.
