Book of Punjabi essays titled `Ujarda Punjab’ released

Ludhiana: A book of Punjabi essays titled `Ujarda Punjab’ written by Baljit Singh Dhillon was released by the Padma Shri Dr.Surjit Patar at Ramgarhia Girls College today. Keeping the Covid guidelines in view, the event was attended by a limited gathering of around 40, out of which notable are Ranjodh Singh, President, Ramgarhia Educational Council, Pritpal Singh from Gurudwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib, Baba Bhupinder Singh Bhinda from Karsewa Gurudwara Manji Sahib Alamgir, Darshan Singh Makkar, Jagbir Singh Sokhi and Surinder Singh Malik.
The essays discuss the problems starting Punjab in the face ‐ water-table depletion, mass migration of village youth to Canada and Australia, and farmers' woes. S Ranjodh Singh said that the idea behind this exercise is to find ways and means to tackle these issues.
Meanwhile, N.S.S. unit of RGC organized a Covid19 Vaccination camp for students and faculty, in which 250 shots were administered.
Sohan Singh Goga inaugurated the camp. Officiating Principal Dr. Rajeshwarpal Kaur said that colleges in Punjab are gearing up to open their doors for students once they are vaccinated. The pandemic has forced colleges to conduct online classes as well as conduct online examinations for students for the last one and half years. We are looking forward to the hustle and bustle of pre-covid times, she said. She also expressed her gratitude to ESI Dispensary-7 for the Vaccination initiative.
At the end Gurcharan Singh Lotey General Secretary, REC appreciated and thanked all the participants for their fruitful efforts.
