Book release cum Inaugural ceremony

Chandigarh, July 18, 2018: A fifteen day refresher course in experimental Physics was kick started with a book release cum inaugural ceremony. This refresher course is sponsored by the three science academies of Bangaluru, New Delhi and Allahabad. This is very special as it is 100th one in line. The experiments that are specially designed for undergraduate, postgraduate students of physics are beautifully texted in the form of a book “Experimental Physics” by Prof.R. Srinivasan, Dr. K.R. Priolkar and Dr. T.G. Ramesh. This book gives an insight of theory as well as design part of the experiment. The book was released by the dignitaries Prof. M.R.N. Murthy (Chairman, Joint Education Panel Indian Academy of Sciences), Prof. Arun Kumar Grover (Vice Chancellor Panjab University Chandigarh), Prof. D. Mehta (Dean Sciences) Prof. K.R. Priolkar (Goa University) and Prof. R. Srinivasan (Retired Prof. IIT Madras and author of the book). It is a great honour for Panjab University that to celebrate the centenary course, science academies’ chose Panjab University to be its venue. This course is specially designed for Faculty members to give the insight of experiments and their design part. The course has received over whelming response and the participants are from Karnatka, Chennai, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, New Delhi, Kerela, Silchar, and many more places. Course director Dr. Shahi has taken care of all the logistics and smooth functioning of the refresher course.
