WON BRONZE MEDAL IN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Ludhiana, November 26, 2018: Boxer Simranjit Kaur, who has won the Bronze medal representing India in the AIBA World Boxing Championship, received rousing welcome by district administration today. Sub Divisional Magistrate Mr.Damanjeet Singh Mann led a group of local residents, players and coaches welcomed her at the railway station. Mr.Mann honored her on behalf of district administration.

While appreciating his achievement, Mr. Mann said that it is a matter of great pride for Punjab that Simranjit Kaur from Village Chakkar in Ludhiana has bagged the Bronze medal in 60-64 KG category at the World Championship. She is the first woman pugilist from Punjab to have won a medal in World Championship. The SDM while crediting her coach and parents for the shining achievement also said that the whole country is proud of her.

He further said that this pugilist is undergoing training at the Punjab Institute of Sports in Mohali. He also said that this medal at the most prestigious championship in the world is a result of untiring toil and hard work of years. Wishing the boxer all the best for the future, he expressed strong hope that Simranjit Kaur would continue to make the nation proud. District Sports Officer Mr. Ravinder Singh, AEO Bikramjeet Singh, Parents of Simranjeet Kaur, Panchayat of village Chakkar and prominent members of society were also present on this occasion.
