Sonipat, September 28, 2024: A two-week intensive Russian language program titled “Such a Diverse Russia” was organised at Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, in association with Minin Nizhny Novgorod State Pedagogical University, Russia.

 

The program concluded today. This event was jointly organized by the Office of International Affairs and the Department of Foreign Languages (BPSMV). Vice Chancellor Prof. Sudesh was the Chief Patron of the organizing committee.

 

Dr. Nadezhda Igorevna Kotliarevskaia, a distinguished Russian language expert from Minin University, conducted the course aimed at entry-level students (A1/1) to introduce them to the Russian language while exploring the diverse cities and cultural heritage of Russia. The course, designed for 72 hours (including classroom and independent work), focused on teaching essential Russian reading, writing, and grammar skills, while imparting linguistic and cultural knowledge about the history and cities of Russia.

 

The main Course Objectives included; teaching the basics of reading and writing in Russian, introduction of fundamental grammatical structures of Russian, enhancing vocabulary with topics related to Russian cities and culture, develop listening and speaking skills through practical exercises and thematic discussions, cultivating a deeper understanding of Russian history, geography, and culture; and generate interest in further studying Russian language and culture.

 

The course concluded with student presentations on Indian cities and travel experiences, fostering cross-cultural exchanges between India and Russia. Vice Chancellor Prof. Sudesh felicitated the Russian language expert with a certificate and a shawl, marking a successful conclusion of the program. More than 80 participants enthusiastically participated in this program. At the successful completion of the program, certificates from Minin University were awarded to the participants.

 

The organising committee included Officiating Registrar Prof. Shweta Singh as Patron along with Director OIA Prof. Ipshita Bansal, Nodal Officer Dr. Manju Panwar, Convener Vidushi Sharma, and Members Dr. Mathachan K.J. and Dr. Sudipta Sil.
