A two-day exhibition on the glorious history of Haryana, "Yug-Yugo Se Haryana'' was inaugurated at Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidhyala by Vice Chancellor Prof. Sudesh.
Khanpur Kalan, February 27, 2024. A two-day exhibition on the glorious history of Haryana, "Yug-Yugo Se Haryana'' was inaugurated at Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidhyala by Vice Chancellor Prof. Sudesh.
This exhibition is organized by the Department of History and Archeology in collaboration with Haryana Sahitya and Sanskriti Academy, Panchkula.
Chief Guest Prof Sudesh said in her inaugural address that Haryana has a rich cultural, social and political history, in which the women of the state have also played an important role. Present generation, especially the youth and students, must be aware of various aspects of this rich heritage.
VC Prof. Sudesh congratulated the organizing team and said that such events should be organized regularly for the academic and intellectual development of girl students. She also appreciated the involvement of students in program coordination.
Dr. Anil Yadav from KPL College, Rewari and Dr. Ajay Veer, Assistant Director of Haryana Sahitya and Sanskriti Academy were present as resource persons. Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Ravi Bhushan, delivered the welcome address. The exhibition coordinator and Head of the Department of History and Archeology Dr. Archana Malik, threw light on the outline of the exhibition. The stage was conducted by Dr. Seema Dahiya, Chairperson of the Law Department. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Sheetal of the History Department.
In this exhibition, pictures of remains of the Indus Saraswati site, Vedic period, Later Vedic period, Chauhan/Pratihar period found in Haryana have been displayed. Era of temple demolition of the 11th century, Tughlaq and Mughal invasions, Third Battle of Panipat, Haryana's contribution in the freedom struggle of 1857, First World War and partition of India in 1947 have also been depicted through pictures. Besides, rare pictures of the Indian freedom struggle, ancient inns, stepwells, temple architecture etc have also been displayed through pictures. A book exhibition related to the history of Haryana has also been organized by Haryana Sahitya and Sanskrit Academy, Panchkula. This exhibition will be open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
