Ludhiana, June 21, 2016: With the motive of 'Happy and Healthy Society by Yoga and Rajjoga' a magnificent programme was organised under the aegis of Brahmakumaris Spiritual University at Arya College for Boys, Dandi Swami road here, to mark the 2nd International Yoga Day initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year.
More than 2000 participants took part enthusiastically in this mega event early in the morning 6:00 am to 8:00 am.
Dr. Srimant Sahu from Mount Abu was the main resource person here, who made Ludhianvis aware about the health and disease. He told the importance of Yoga for not only preventing diseases but also for controlling diseases and living healthy. He told Yoga to be quite useful for mitigating and counteracting diabetes, obesity, indigestion, hypertension, stress, tension etc.
Ludhiana Mayor S. Harcharan Singh Gohlwadia, BJP Sr. Leader Sh. Rajinder Bhandari, B.K. Ludhiana Chief B.K. Raj Didi, B.K. Saras Didi and others were also present at the venue.
Dr. Sahu versed that there is imbalance between our mind, soul and body in today's fast life. For healthy, happy life we need to balance all these. Mind needs to be made stable and body need to be made flexible and useable. Yoga and Rajyoga are perfect for body and mind exercise. Yoga increases mainly body power and flexibility whereas Rajyoga concerns stability of mind and also improves concentration and helps connect soul with the Supreme Soul.
He facilitated the present over there to do light body exercises for over half an hour, on the tune of spiritual songs. People felt light and delighted at the start of day bright.
At the end B.K. Saras Didi gave a small practice of Rajyoga Medication with commentary and told the importance of stabilising both mind and body through Yoga.
On 20th June also, Dr. Sahu took an evening session of Ludhianvis at Community Hall of Agar Nagar on the topic of diabetes and made people aware about the causes, consequences and preventive measures to control it as well. He also gave a practice of yogic exercises to control diabetes.
