Breaking Barriers: Enactus SSBUICET organizes 81st workshop on Menstrual Health & Hygiene under the ‘Mytharche Series’

Chandigarh, February 11, 2025: As part of its ongoing commitment to social impact and awareness, Enactus SSBUICET team of Panjab University conducted its 81st Workshop on Menstrual Health & Hygiene under the Mytharche Series for the underprivileged women at the Developing Indigenous Resources-India (DIR-India) building, Nayagaon.

Dr. Asha Katoch, the CEO of DIR-India and the resource person for the workshop, passionately underscored the necessity of fostering open conversations about menstrual health, asserting that breaking the silence surrounding this topic is a key to driving meaningful societal change. She emphasized that widespread awareness plays a critical role in dispelling deep-rooted myths and misconceptions, ultimately fostering a more informed and healthier mind set toward menstruation. Encouraging participants to transition from conventional plastic-based sanitary napkins to cloth-based alternatives, she highlighted their multiple advantages. She explained that these sustainable napkins not only contribute to better personal health by reducing exposure to harmful chemicals but also offer significant environmental benefits by minimizing non-biodegradable waste. By making this shift, individuals can actively contribute to both their own well-being and a cleaner, more sustainable future.

The session focused on raising awareness, debunking myths and promoting sustainable menstrual practices among women and young girls, conveyed Prof. Seema Kapoor, Faculty Advisor of Enactus team and Vice President of the Corporate Sustainability Council, Women's Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CSC WICCI), Chandigarh,
