Breast Feeding Week observed at CMC, Ludhiana

Ludhiana, August 7, 2018: Breast Feeding Week celebrated on 1st August to 7th August ,2018 on the theme of” Foundation of Life” by College of Nursing, Child Health Nursing & Dept. of obstetrician/gynecologist , CMC & Hospital Ludhiana. Principal College of Nursing Dr.(Mrs.) Reena Jairus appreciated the work of students and spoke about the theme of the program. Dr.Kavita Bhatti, Unit Head of Department of obstetrician/gynecologist, CMC & Hospital Ludhiana spoke on topic Exclusive Breast Feeding.

Prof. (Mrs.) Seema Barnabas spoke on topic Advantages of Breast Feeding. Dr. Jatinder, President of Innerwheelclub also spoke on topic diet for breast feeding mothers. Poster Exhibition was conducted by nursing students and a role play was also done on myths regarding breast feeding. Judges for poster competition were Dr. P. Vargheese of Pediatric Medicine department, Ms. Kamlesh Gill, Nursing Superintendent, CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana and Dr. Jatinder, President of Innerwheel club.Prizes were sponsored by InnerWheel Club.

Video assisted teaching and a demonstration was conducted for antenatal mothers regarding Proper technique of breast feeding by M.sc Nursing Students. The Whole week activities were conducted under the guidance of Mrs. Premlata Prakash, Assoc. Prof. & HOD, Child Health Nursing Department of College of Nursing, CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana. All these activities were appreciated by antenatal mothers and their relatives.
