British Council Delegation visits Panjab University
Chandigarh, September 16, 2021: A delegation of British Council represented by Rashi Jain, the Director, North India and Vishu Sharma, Head, Higher Education, North India today visited Panjab University to meet the Vice Chancellor, Professor Raj Kumar and other University officials including Prof. Devinder Singh, Secretary to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. V.R.Sinha, Dean University Instructions, Prof. Anju Suri, Dean International Students, Prof. S.K.Tomar, Dean Students Welfare (Men) and Prof. Meena Sharma, DSW(Women) at the Vice Chancellor’s office.
Professor Raj Kumar accorded a cordial and warm welcome to the delegation and shared his delight at the cordial relations of the British Council with Panjab University which have been existing for a long time and which have successfully culminated into various meaningful academic and cultural events in collaboration. The council members also expressed happiness that the relations of the British Council and Panjab University form a bedrock of various activities conducted jointly in the most satisfying manner.
The Delegation briefed the PU authorities about the ‘Going Global Partnership Programme’ being offered by the Council thus providing opportunities to take up the collaborative ventures in future and binding more closely the mutual relationships. The students, graduates and faculty may be highly benefitted by the shared experience of international education which is the part of the programme. This has been facilitated by India’s Education Policy adopted in 2020 with the prime focus on internationalization and attention on students’ flexibility. The meeting was highly interactive and underlined the brighter prospect of global partnership of PU with British Council.
