Broadcasting programmes on Panjab University's official Community Radio station Radio Jyotirgamaya 91.2MHZ Padho or Padhao
School of Communication Studies, PU, has started a prestigious project with the Department of Fertilisers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers, on behalf of Govt. of India, to broadcasting programmes on Panjab University's official Community Radio station Radio Jyotirgamaya 91.2MHZ Padho or Padhao. This endeavour envisages the vision of achieving self-reliance in the fertiliser sector in the country for sustainable agriculture growth maintaining good soil health and spreading awareness amongst the farmers.
Chandigarh, February 13, 2024: School of Communication Studies, PU, has started a prestigious project with the Department of Fertilisers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers, on behalf of Govt. of India, to broadcasting programmes on Panjab University's official Community Radio station Radio Jyotirgamaya 91.2MHZ Padho or Padhao. This endeavour envisages the vision of achieving self-reliance in the fertiliser sector in the country for sustainable agriculture growth maintaining good soil health and spreading awareness amongst the farmers.
Panjab University in collaboration with National Fertilisers Limited, Bathinda Unit and Zonal Office Chandigarh, has desired to take up this prestigious project for broadcasting various Programmes such as creating awareness to local farmers on various fertilisers schemes viz PM-Praman, Balanced use of Fertilisers, Nutrient Management, Soil Health, Sustainable Agriculture etc.
In this connection an MOU has been executed on 13th Feb 2024 on the eve of World Radio Day for broadcasting 180 Various Agriculture related programmes for about one year. Scientists from KVK Mohali are also associated in this project and shall be participating in 180 Radio shows on various topics related to Agriculture from CRS PU Campus.
Professor Yajvender Pal Verma, Registrar, Panjab University graced rhe occassiob and signed the MOU with NFL Bathinda. Mr. Rajkumar Rapelly, Manager(HR); Mr. Arjun Dev, Manager(Mktg) & Sh. AK Agarwal DM(HR) from National Fertilisers Limited were present in the ceremony; Dr. Navjot Singh Brar, Scientist, KVK Mohali; Ms. Priyanka Sharma,anchor, hosted the MOU Signing ceremony radio program.
Coordinator, CRS, Dr Bhavneet Bhatti said, “It is a project of highest responsibility as we'll be spreading awareness amongst farmers and for that we will not only stick to community radio station only, but also be putting the content on various audio platforms available to cater the wider audience”.
