Ferozepur, March 23, 2022: To pay homage to the martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, Martyrs Day Celebrations were organized at National Martyrs Memorial and JCP Hussainiwala. Many events were conducted during the programme in presence of Asif Jalal IPS, IG FTR HQ PB, Brig Surendra Mehta, VSM (Retd), DIG BSF Ferozepur, B N Pardhan, DIG (Comn) FTR HQ Punjab, Bipin Kumar, Comdt, Virendra, 2IC/Offg Comdt, Chhering Dorje, 2IC Offg Comdt, representatives of Ministry of Culture, other senior officials, NGOs and students of border area schools. Representatives of Ministry of Culture, other senior officials, NGOs and students of border area schools were also present.

The programme was started with “Prabhat Pheri” from village Barreke to JCP Hussainiwala via National Martyrs Memorial from in the morning. In this event, approx. 150 students and 150 BSF Jawans participated. Followed by this  BSF Officers, officials and students paid tribute and carried out wreath laying at National Martyrs Memorial.
Later, at about 0805 hrs, the cultural programme was started with the lightening of candle by chief guest. Many events were presented by BSF troops, students, Ministry of Culture and NGOs during the cultural programme. The contribution of the martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev to the freedom of India were highlighted. In conclusion of the programme, a motivational speech was delivered.
During the programme one e-rickshaw was presented to JCP Hussainiwala by Vikash Mittal, dealer of Bharat Petroleum, Ferozepur.
BSF always work for various social causes, inspires the youths for loving the country and will continue to associate with such initiatives in future too. Border Security Force conducts many cultural programs and games for civil population and environmental education programs for border villages population. These types of activities, are a step forward to achieve the aim of motivating the border population to keep themselves physically fit and sturdy.
