BSF recovers 9 pistols, cartridges and Pak Mobile SIMs at BHP Joginder

Ferozepur, June 29, 2013: During the ‘Special Search Operation’ by BSF jawans under the supervision of Malkit Singh, Commanding Officer, pistols, cartridges and Pakistani SIMs have been recovered.

Giving this information, DIG BSF Ravi Joseph Loku said, “On getting a secret information that Pakistani smugglers are sending a consignment of arms and ammunition, via BHP Joginder in Mamdot area, the surveillance on the international border to check infiltration, smuggling of narcotics and fake currency etc. from the other side more effectively was intensified to keep a vigilant on suspicious activities from across the border.”

He further said, “Today at the wee hours at about 1 AM, when BSF jawans were busy in special search operation in BHP Joginder area, they found a hidden packet near pillar No.212/16-17, containing 9 China  and Pakistan made pistols, 39 live cartridges and 2 Pakistani SIMs, were found. 

“All the recovered material was taken into custody and BSF has started further investigation into the matter, to ascertain as to whom these were to be passed on to the smugglers on the Indian side”, he added.
